We had the pleasure of working with George and his team while McGarry Constructions completed renovations on our inner west home. The renovations included replacing all the flooring, windows (including two new beautiful ''period'' timber windows that George designed and sourced himself), creating an open plan family room, replacing the old kitchen with a butlers pantry and new kitchen complete with an island, and painting front to rear. One of the things that impressed us the most, was George's project management skills. His attention to detail, not only during the course of the build stage, but at the initial planning stages ensured that the project ran on time and was completed within the timeframes agreed at the start of the project. George kept us informed throughout the whole build process and ensured that when decisions had to be made, he provided us with options and recommendations to allow us to make informed choices. The work completed was of a very high standard and we would have no hesitation in recommending George and his team.

George and his team delivered a major, structural renovation on our apartment. They delivered it to the highest standard with attention to the finest detail, bang on time. Even from the first consultation we knew we were dealing with the ideal builder. He took the time to work through our intentions and problem solve the tricky parts. He exhausted all possibilities before recommending the best solution. His extensive experience meant he was able to interpret the architectural drawings with clever and creative detailing. He was also willing to give us his considered opinion - which matters when there are so many decisions to make. Both the McGarry team and the trades they worked alongside were as passionate about their work as George was. They were Personable, hard working, and great at what they did, always thinking and re-thinking the problems at hand to make sure they were resolved in the best possible way. George kept a good schedule that was transparent and inclusive. He met us weekly onsite, which helped keep everyone on the same page and, ultimately, the build on schedule. A fun aspect of working with George was the social experience. He posted video walk throughs regularly, which meant we were able to literally watch our build come to life. We found ourselves hanging out to see his Instagram posts each morning, hoping to catch something juicy happening onsite. We would recommend McGarry Constructions without hesitation!

This project was one of a contemporary renovation for an existing home built in 1952. An architect was engaged to create some conceptual planning for approval, and design intent. McGarry Constructions was put through to me as a potential partnership, sharing a similar focus for detail, and experience in renovation projects of this nature. George McGarry presented an initial cost plan, setting the tone for some good honest dialogue around a "cost plus" contract. Once all agreed and commencement on site began, it was evident that the team at McGarry Constructions shared the same focus to detail, cleanliness of site (which is often overlooked), and operating in a transparent fashion. I had not engaged the architect for full documentation both to keep costs lean, but equally as a result of the unknown factor of the age of the structure. I am pleased to say that George filled those gaps in scope quite nicely, and he was particularly prudent in presenting multiple options around any challenges that were encountered, even to the smallest detail. As a client fixated on detail, it was a pleasure to be on the same page with someone of the same ilk. To that end, from the initial stages, I had little doubt that we would share the same end goal. For the most part, the renovation remained as intended to the brief, but it was the agility, and flexibility of the team at McGarry that allowed new ideas, and functional improvements to occur during the build based on what was discovered on site. The project went over budget purely as a function of the level of unknown in an older building, and added client scope. The team at McGarry went over and above to maintain program, and deliver the project in preparation for Christmas. The whole design, and build process took 8 months, with McGarry Constructions occupying the final 3 months of that timeline. It was an absolute pleasure working with the team. I found everyone hard working, committed, and passionate about what they did. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to friends and family, and hope to be working with them again in the near future.

McGarry Constructions have just completed an extension to our Glebe house. The site is very small and this represented some real challenges. George was readily up to the challenge. He worked closely and effectively with the architect (I detected mutual respect - a rare thing), his tradesmen were committed and shared his high standards. The result is outstanding.

We had a really great experience with George and McGarry Construction for our recent kitchen, bathroom and third bedroom renovation. From our first contact with George, we found him extremely responsive. His estimates were really clear and we worked together throughout the whole project to keep within budget. McGarry Constructions recently renovated our outdoor living area by completing a built in BBQ area, screening, deck extesion with stairs and an outdoor storage shed at our house in Birchgrove. The concept designs we presented to George were only basic sketches and verbal descriptions which George and his team were able to use to create just what we wanted. The engaged, professional communication through out the project made for a brilliant result. The attention to detail, the commitment to high finishing standards and experience shown by McGarry Constructions have resulted in very satisfied, happy customers. The site was kept neat and tidy through out the build. We have no hesitation recommending McGarry Constructions.

George and his team completed a rebuild and renovation of our deck, along with some internal updates. We can wholeheartedly say that the experience was excellent. George and his team are highly professional, workmanship is of a very high standard, and the entire renovation was smooth and straightforward. George is a great communicator, always available and followed up even when I had forgotten about something.
