We’ll make sure it is all right before you start. Senior Architect Paul Bagnall completed his architectural training at the arts school of Kingston University, qualifying in 1989. All of his architectural work has been in housing, working on numerous conversions, extensions and refurbishments along with significant new-build projects. Architect Mark Webster trained at Greenwich University and qualified in 2000. Working in large commercial practices for over 10 years he detailed and oversaw the construction of large high specification office and residential schemes like Grosvenor Dock in central London. At EV Architects, Mark uses his vast technical knowledge, attention to detail and understanding of environmentally friendly solutions to bring quality to projects of all sizes. An excellent job that finally got planning approval after 2.1/2 years back and forth with Redbridge council but in the end all passed. Mark and the team at EV Architects done a great job and worked with us and got what we wanted even had images in 3D which helped tremendously. The builder JH Contract Services we used was excellent and we hired our own project manager John Cruse. All in all the initial meeting and subsequent meetings with Mark and his team resulted in our wonderful home we have now, although Covid has put a stop to our furnishings being completed......

We have engaged Mark and Paul twice in relation to our Victorian house - 5 years ago when they designed the large kitchen/living room rear extension and recently in relation to the addition of of a new second floor and remodelling of our first floor, which had a number of poorly executed 1960s additions. We have continued to be impressed with their designs and especially their creativity and flexibility. The virtual reality design feature they offer made a huge difference to our decision making and helped us to see their vision and work together to refine it. We have particularly appreciated their assistance with the planning process which has been creative in navigating some knotty issues. They have also introduced us to some excellent contractors to choose between. We really love the design and it feels very light and airy, not like a cramped loft at all - it is a beautiful, tall extra floor. Mark and Paul worked hard on the vision and it has paid off.

We hired EV Architects to help with the remodelling the layout of our house to accommodate a larger kitchen and move the utility room. We found Mark and Chris very friendly, helpful and professional. As it was our first time using architects, we found their straightforward approach very comforting - talking and guiding us through the various steps. Even after the formal drawings were finalised and presented to us, Mark was really helpful with providing information on builders we could use, approx. costs, a drainage query as well as guiding us through the building control process. In summary, I would highly recommend the team at EV Architects.

Right away we knew Mark was the architect for us. He is knowledgeable, calm (very important as a building project can be very stressful at times) and nothing was too much trouble, even when we changed our mind on design a number of times. He steered the project through planning, keeping on top of them all the way and then put together a tender bid process with 6 contractors. We can thoroughly recommend Mark and his team for your project.

Summary: EV helped us design a side return extension on our victorian end terrace house. We're very happy with the results and love our new space. Details: - Imaginative: generated a number of different ideas and concepts and styles - Progressive: bought the visualisation process to life by employing VR technology (Google Cardboard etc) to produce 3D models of their designs that we could 'walk around' - Reasonable and clear: I found their fees reasonable for the level of service provided. They were also clear when I was made requests for additional work ie. that the work was outside of the original scope and what the addition (modest) costs would be. - Technically sound: the plans and 3D models were well executed Observation: EV are clearly passionate about design. Challenging your ideas to produce the best solution is part of their make-up. As a software designer, I embrace and enjoy the "robust exchange of views to produce the optimum outcome" approach. However, a facet of that approach is that not every idea will suit you - it is a your responsibility to edit the ideas to find the one that works best for you. If that appeals to you then you will enjoy working with EV and you will be happy with the outsome, but if you are simply looking for a firm to draw up your initial idea, you might prefer a less challenging alternative.

We chose EVArchitects initially due to their ability to provide 3d pictures of how the space would look, and this really helped us feel reassured that the design would work in terms of space and practicality. Mark Webster supported us through from project initiation to completion, including a vast amount of moral support when our first builders declared bankruptcy, for which we will always be grateful. With their support we have ended up with a beautiful family home with a "wow" factor. 4 years on the space still gets the same reaction from new visitors, which always makes us smile. Emperor Vision

EV Archtects were great to work with. They came with range of great ideas on how to use our space and they helped us resolve any issue with cost effective solutions. The best part was the 3D visuals which helped us to make key decisions with confidence. We had three options for the location of the stairway down to the new basement. It was a clear choice when using the visuals and we knew the right decision had been made. I would recommend them without hesitation.
