Dealing with Earthwood Custom Remodeling was a great overall experience. Ryan is super responsive with any and all questions or concerns. He really went out of his way to get our project within our budget. All of his subcontractors were amazing to work with and very friendly. All of the work we had done is of a quality that is so rare to find these days. I only wish that we had more remodel projects that they could work on for us! Finally they really stuck with their schedule and communicated early an issues that they foresaw. They even helped out with two non-project related issues that popped up (air conditioning and an unrelated electrical issue).

So glad we chose Earthwood Custom Remodeling for our basement remodel. Their quality of work, and the overall experience, was so much better than other companies we have used in the past. They are clearly very selective about their subs; each and every one was very professional and among the very best at what they specialize in. We are so grateful for, and cannot say enough about, Earthwood's exceptional communication, responsiveness, scheduling, timeliness, craftsmanship, and workmanship.

I can't say enough positive things about Earthwood. Ryan and Kim are true professionals who take pride in their workmanship and that of their subs. We did an extensive primary bedroom and bathroom remodel that finished per the schedule they provided, on time, and with attention to every detail. All punch list items (and there were few) have gotten the same attention as we received from the very beginning. I will be calling Earthwood for my next project without question.

Earthwood construction finished our 1700 square foot basement. This was a time sensitive project. They gave us a day by day schedule and keep to the schedule over the full 6 weeks. The quality of work was outstanding. In addition, their team offered several suggestions that resulted in an even better living space than we had imagined. We give Earthwood an A+ - especially for timeliness and quality of work! They have an excellent team for electrical, plumbing, framing, finishing and more. We will use them again!

We had a total kitchen remodel. Everything from new cabinets, appliances, countertops, flooring, ceiling, lighting, etc. This company is very efficient. Any concerns we had were immediately addressed and taken care of. We were involved with every aspect are elated with the results. Ryan stays true to his timelines and is always available to discuss any issues. He is a great communicator. This is a wonderful company to work with!

Earthwood did our master bathroom and kitchen remodel from end of July to end of October 2020. Before we chose Earthwood, we did our own research of what to look for in a contractor and got recommendations. We got bid from five contractors. We chose Earthwood because we appreciated how much time Ryan spent with us on the bidding process. When it came to do the actual bid, Ryan had ALL of his subcontractors come and review the work and give their bids. The bids were very detailed and we knew exactly what the scope of work and the cost each subcontractor. In addition, Ryan showed us an actual calendar that his team works off of, and he sends it to all parties involved so everyone knows what to expect. We signed with Ryan, and he put together a contract. He encouraged us to pick our cabinets, appliances, tile, countertops, plumbing fixtures, and lighting fixtures so that he could put together a schedule where we didn't have to wait on anything. Once the project started, it took 13 weeks, and Ryan and Kim finished on time and at the price of the bid; my interior designer raved how well organized Ryan and Kim were, and she wishes all contractors were this way! Ryan and his team did high quality work and were patient with us as we asked questions. They won't be the cheapest, but they're reliable and high quality, which is what we wanted out of our contractor - doing the work as if it were their own home!

I worked alongside Ryan and Kim with Earthwood Custom Remodeling on a $600,000+ remodel as their designer, and all I can say, is they have set the bar very high. Their attention to detail is second to none, their expertise and skill level surpass any contractor I've ever worked with in the past 20+ years, and they have top notch sub contractors who are all artisans in their crafts. They are a well oiled machine! With so many moving parts in a remodel, you need to hire someone who will exceed your expectations. Ryan and Kim Coats are simply amazing! They helped us with a full kitchen remodel, convert our half bath to a 3/4 bath, and redo all of our flooring on our main level. They provided a very detailed quote which kept us from encountering change orders. They also gave us a calendar outlining the entire project timeline, and they and the subs stuck to it. It was a 9 week reno and they finished on time and on budget. Their craftsmanship is second to none. We are very particular and we finally met our match! Their attention to detail is impressive and much appreciated. All of the subcontractors they work with are respectful, highly skilled and kind. This is our second project in the past 2 years with Ryan. Our first project included adding a portico to the front of our house, creating 2 egress windows, enlarging a basement window, a new driveway, garage floor and walkway to our house. This year Earthwood finished our 1300 square foot basement. The reasons we went back to Ryan for our 2nd project are many--his price is competitive, the quality of his work is excellent, he is a pleasure to work with and is very committed to making sure the final product is exactly what the homeowner envisions. We embarked upon a major home remodel in February of this year. We chose Earthwood given our due diligence on the internet and a contractor face to face interview coupled w/ some evaluation of other high end projects that they had been associated with. The Earthwood team of Ryan & Kim, their contractor base brought a level of professionalism , scheduling, and quality that any homeowner should demand when embarking upon a major remodel project. They handled everything from scheduling, to permitting, demolition, framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, flooring, tiling, masonry, the installation of new kitchen cabinets & appliances, painting, and managing the building inspection process. Their communications were outstanding, kept the project on schedule, managed their contractor base and suggested some higher end finishes that made to project deliver a wow factor. How often after an 11 week duration sub-floor to finish have you heard about counting the contractor as a friend, I'd bet not very often...we recommended Earthwood quite highly...

We worked with Earthwood last year to expand our master bathroom into an on-suite and add an additional bathroom to our 2nd floor. The end result turned out better than we could have imagined - there were some unique challenges in our 90 year old home that Earthwood was able to solve without any issues. The service that Earthwood provides is phenomenal. Ryan, Kim and the team finished the project within the timeline and budget that we agreed upon before we kicked off. They went out of their way to be respectful to us, our neighbors, and even our dog! They also took great care of our home during the three month project. We had a great experience throughout what is always a stressful time going through a large renovation, and will look to hire Earthwood again for our next project!

Earthwood was the General Contractor for our kitchen remodel in the spring of 2016. We couldn't be happier with the outcome. Ryan and his team were great to work with throughout the process. In any remodel there are going to be a few issues. It's not a question of whether or not you'll have issues but how they are handled that matters. During our remodel, Earthwood was responsive and able to manage all issues quickly. We would use them again.

Ryan/Kim/Will and Dean just wrapped up a sizeable job at our new home in the burbs, and we couldn't be happier. We did quite a bit, and Earthwood handled virtually every aspect of it. This team is by the book and ensure a safe work environment and home after the job is done. All permits necessary were pulled and we are very happy with both the process and end result. 1. New hardwood floors in the entire home, replacing old hardwood floors and carpet upstairs 2. New kitchen - cabinets, countertops, backsplash, lighting, you name it. They demoed the old kitchen and took down a non-load bearing wall. Framed out a former doorway to replace the wall that got knocked down and pushed the wall out a couple inches to meet electrical code, fit a moved duct and make way for plumbing, etc. L-shaped tight quarters opened up with an island + seating courtesy of BCK Kitchen Bath. 3. New Pantry. Earthwood replaced old, dingy shelving with new custom ones, as well as doors (didn't look fun...sorry Kim and Dean!). Laundry closet got the quartz countertop treatment and backsplash matching the kitchen. 4. Major family room modification. This is a cape cod home that I called the "Benjamin Franklin" house. Tighter floorplan but ample room hidden in the walls. Ryan had Chris, his structural engineer, come by and see about removing a 7.5 ft ceiling and lifting it to a true vault up to 13.5ft. (formerly unusable and empty attic space). We were also able to kick the interior wall back approximately 4ft. and free that space up as well, the entire length of the room. Earthwood installed all structural framing (load had to be shifted side to side to front to back) and finished it off with shiplap paneling and thick, 4" molding. Wrapped structural beams for added effect. 5. Get the whole house up to code on electrical. New box and fire/CO detectors throughout. Boy did she need it! Did I mention my wife was pregnant the whole time, we were forced to move into construction putting heat on the timeline, had a 2 year old running around and I had a hand surgery? :) All went better than expected and a lot was done in a very reasonable period of time. Ryan pulled together his team (structural/framing and millwork, lots of waste removal, tons of communication with others and basically anything else in between) as well as electricians, plumbers, drywall, tile and hardwood flooring. Earthwood will be back at our place, I'm sure of it, for one thing or another, so long as they are willing and can put up with the chaotic household :).

We chose Earthwood for our kitchen remodel based on the reviews we read on Houzz. Ryan and Kim Coats have a team of professionals that include some of the best craftsmen in Colorado. Not only did our kitchen turn out better than we had planned, but we never lost sleep worrying about the process. They will be our team for our Phase Two project in 2017.

My husband and I were extremely careful about selecting the best general contractor to remodel our new house--one that we can trust completely and have all work executed flawlessly. We've done a couple of projects with Earthwood Custom Remodeling and I have nothing but the best things to say about their team. They do high quality work and their clients love them. They are very easy-going and incredibly fun to work with. They would be the first company I would call for a remodel/basement finish of my own home.

I can't say enough about Ryan, his dad Kim and all of the great people who worked for and with them on my complete bathroom gut and remodel. I interviewed 5 contractors before choosing one to do this work in my loft in Lower Downtown, Denver. Earthwood wasn't the least expensive, nor were they the most expensive. If they had been the most expensive, knowing what I know now, I'd still choose them. Here's why: Ryan is a man of his word and a very solid person. He does what he says he'll do, when he says he'll do it. And he communicates along the way! The only surprises were happy ones :-) Ryan knows his stuff. He and his father have been doing this work for decades. I relied heavily on their expertise and knowledge because I had never done any remodeling. They never steered me wrong and often had great ideas I would never have had on my own. Because he's such a good person, he has incredible sub-contractors working with him and they also were true to their word in every single case. Even when we encountered the unanticipated hiccups that are always a part of this type of project, I was kept informed and given choices. Ryan and his team had to deal with building management where my loft is located, much of which completely turned over while I was gone! There were some sticky points along the way as the new front desk people learned their jobs and the building policies. This meant some additional headaches for Earthwood, yet Ryan and his team were respectful, patient and friendly along the way. They never made this problem my problem and dealt with it all on their own. Incredible. The level of care everyone on the team gave to my home in general and the project specifically just can't be measured. Ryan is a detail guy and he is on top of every one of them, without being overbearing or difficult. My home only has one bedroom and this project was expected to take a month. Because I had done so much research and felt I knew and trusted Ryan as much as I did, I was completely comfortable spending the entire month in New Mexico while the work was being done. I don't regret that decision one bit. My home may actually have been cleaner and more organized when I returned! Oh, and they finished the project early. The end result is a gorgeous, high quality bathroom that has increased the value of my home and it feels good to walk into it every time. It literally takes people's breath away. It is even better than I'd imagined, thanks to Ryan, Kim and their sub-contractors. My only complaint about the project is that I didn't have more for them to do! I would (and certainly WILL) hire Earthwood again. In fact I'm considering purchasing an investment property and having Earthwood to everything needed to make it as beautiful, valuable and marketable as it can be.

It was a pleasure working with Earthwood on one of my favorite projects....ever. We won a some local and national lighting design awards for this project. In order to win these awards, we had a lot of unique lighting details that we just invented. Some of these details were not easy but Ryan and his team pulled them off in a high quality way. Our client was really happy with the final product and that says everything.

As a designer, I worked with Earthwood on a total home renovation in Golden. The kitchen and three bathrooms were completely remodeled. Two fireplaces, one in the living room and one in the master bedroom, were renovated and updated with ledgestone facade and metal mantles. Interior lighting was replaced as well as interior doors and trim throughout. Tongue and groove ceiling was stained and interior walls repainted. Outdoor entertainment area was added and upper level deck off of the master bedroom was added. Total transformation of this 1970's house. Earthwood Remodeling are excellent contractors with a great team -- very professional and workmanship is quality. It is not often you work with contractors that are pleasant, have great attitudes, and work with you and your clients to get the project completed to everyone's satisfaction. Look forward to hiring them for my next design project.

We called around and got several estimates as this was our first time ever having a remodel done. We probably asked more questions than most people but Ryan was super helpful and made sure we understood everything and were comfortable. We were sold with Earthwood's history and previous work! We had them come in and redo our kitchen and I couldn't be any happier with the work they did.
