The best move that we made, when we purchased our new home, was finding and engaging Nab Abdulaal of Design Solutions, Inc. Nab, a certified kitchen and bath designer, is consummately professional. He listens attentively to one’s design desires, comes up with the most satisfying solutions to the challenges in one’s contemplated plans, works to keep costs within budget, uses the most qualified professionals for each and every task, does not leave any stone—whether a counter, a tile, or anything else—unturned, and the end result of his efforts is the most beautiful and functional room beyond what one could have imagined. We spend a great deal of time in our kitchen, preparing and enjoying meals. Doing so in the kitchen that Nab gave us makes it even more pleasurable. Nab also is a tremendously nice person, so working with him always is a delight. Nab designed our new kitchen to maximize our storage and countertop spaces. He listened to my needs and wants and gave us a great country kitchen. His contractors did a wonderful job, were friendly, and respectful of our home.

We are so thankful and grateful that we found our exceptional kitchen designer, Nab of Design Solutions, Inc. We have a small kitchen and had some ideas and wishes for our new kitchen. Nab listened to everything we said and designed a perfect kitchen for us…. absolutely AWESOME. The remodel ran smoothly and with the utmost respect for our property. June 28, 2013 - I wanted to add to this review because as I have lived with the new kitchen I felt I wanted to elaborate more on what I had previously written. As I sit here admiring my kitchen I can’t help but think of Nab of Design Solutions, Inc. The more I use my new kitchen the more impressed I am of the thought and attention to details that Nab put into my kitchen design, as well as the excellence in my cabinetry. His cabinetry company produces quality cabinetry and with each day I continue to appreciate that quality. Dave and I wanted a specific wood, rustic cherry, color and style, Nab worked with us until we were satisfied with everything. Nab wanted us to be happy and WOW! Happy we are. The kitchen design is absolutely perfect for us. Nab utilized the space perfectly giving me plenty of storage space and counter space. The design is so different from our old kitchen. My new kitchen is extremely efficient and so PERFECT FOR ME/US. The appliances are perfect and give me everything I need to facilitate cooking a meal in the best possible way. I can, NOW, easily and efficiently, cook a meal for a large group and have plenty of cooking space for multiple pots and baking dishes, etc. I never had that luxury before. As with many old homes there often are unforeseen problems. We encountered one and had to rethink the plan for 4 cabinets. Nab never skipped a beat and ON THE SPOT created a reworking of 4 cabinets, which actually gave me even more storage space. He remained calm, which, also calmed us and we couldn’t be happier with the redesign in the troubled area. It is perfect!! Selecting the granite was another monumental task. We have specific taste and we wanted to visit a few granite companies to make sure we got the granite we could easily live with. Nab blocked out a day, from his schedule, and he drove us to several granite warehouses. It was a LONG day, but we finally found the granite slab we wanted. At that point Nab took over and arranged all the business details, etc. It was decided during the granite search to use the same granite as the backsplash. Nab felt it would look better than introducing another texture (for the backsplash). He sure was correct on that decision. Continuing the granite as the backsplash is truly a WOW factor. We were constantly impressed with Nab throughout the whole project beginning with the initial visit. He is very honest and extremely knowledgeable and reliable. I listed his many qualifications above. We had estimates/designs from other firms, but we felt we were on the right path with Nab. His design was awesome. When I informed the other firms that we had chosen Nab we actually got a glowing report from one of them stating that he was very confident that we were in good hands with Nab and that we would be very happy with the results. A glowing compliment from another designer, who is impressed with Nab’s work, was exactly the assurance we needed that we made the correct decision. WE DID! Nab, from Design Solutions, is the BEST!! We got three estimates for the work on our kitchen. Not only was he the most reasonable of the three, but he was the easiest to talk to. As a woman, I changed my mind about details frequently before the final plan was made. He worked with me every step of the way, paying 100% attention to detail. Even when out of the country, he stayed in touch through email and telephone. He and his contractor, Tom, were always in communication - along with the hardwood guy, Jeff. If I ever had a question, they were all there to answer. We had some structural challenges, living in an older home, and even though there were setbacks beyond Nab's control, he was there to console me at my lowest. If you are even thinking about hiring a contractor, Nab is the one to hire. We loved him and you will too!

We had a Kitchen remodel. Kitchen was gutted and completely redone. Extremely pleased with the results. Would highly recommend Design Solutions. Project finished right on time. Extremely easy to work with, and very knowledgable about kitchen design. Exceeded our expectations.

We actually used Nab for two projects: masterbath remodel from January to February 2008 and basement finishing from April to July 2009 (so the project costs are for both combined). In both instances, Nab was a pleasure to work with and we were very pleased with the finished product. He had great design ideas and was always willing to work with us to implement ours when we felt strongly about something. He provided mid-range to mid-high-range estimates, compared with other designers. Once work started with the contractors, he kept on top of things and regularly came to review the work accomplished. Whenever we called him out, he seemed never more than a day or two at most away; most times he came over the same day. He also seemed to have a good working relationship with most of the sub-contractors that he employed and had worked with them before. If we remodel our kitchen, we'd have no hesitation going back to Nab and Design Solutions.

Design Solutions designed and oversaw the installation of our kitchen remodel. Nab was extremely knowledgeable and creative in providing an impressive design for our new kitchen. Due to his excellent communication skills and forethought, our installation went through with few clichés and was completed on target. He oversaw the demolition and installation of custom cabinetry, all new appliances, granite counter tops, tile backsplash and lighting fixtures. We were more than pleased with our experience with Design Solutioms and would highly recommend Nab to anyone.
