Even though the home did not go through Cottage Home's usual in-house design process, they embraced our project without hesitation, made an offer the owner couldn't refuse, and the rest is history! Brian, Jeremy, Vicki, and Stephanie included me in the entire process, and I was made to feel like I was a respected part of their team; I never felt left out of critical discussions or decisions. Both my clients and I were amazed at how thorough their process was, not leaving any detail to wonder about, with top-notch workmanship. We can't imagine a better home building experience than we received from Cottage Home. From the initial design of our home through all the details involved with finishing and even furnishing our lake house, the Cottage Home team made the entire experience almost seamless. They took our vague ideas and notions and created features that exceeded our expectations. The overall work quality and follow up on the very few punch list items was excellent. Cottage home nailed the completion date they gave us at the time we agreed to have them build our home and they hit the due date on budget. When we noticed an oversight - we should have included a bath tub in one of the completed guest bedrooms - Cottage Home was kind enough to handle the modification with only a nominal charge. Our builder also improvised along the way. They used large boulders from another construction site to add to the landscape design around our pool and found larger trees for our yard than we had contracted for through a local nursery. Both were beautiful enhancements to our lawn. Three summers later, Cottage Home still views us as a customer that they want in their family. We continue to seek their advice and help, and they invite us to events they host for their customers. The great experience continues!

We contracted Cottage Home to build our new lake home in 2009. This was the first time we had gone through a new construction project. After several meetings with the builder, providing our own ideas on what we hoped for in our home, he then added his design thoughts. The resulting plan was everything we could have imagined. We agreed on a set price, standards, and completion date. The project went as promised, with no deviation from our original agreement on price or standards, and it was completed exactly on time. Compared to other negative experiences we have heard about from friends about other builders, we felt extremely fortunate to have contracted Cottage Home for our project. They have an incredibly stable group of regular subcontractors, who were most professional, highly skilled and competent in their specialties. Icing on the cake, is the fact that this builder "stays with you" long after the project. For any subsequent needs, or repairs, they are immediately available to support our requests. The whole process continues to be one professional story, even after the successful completion of our retirement home on Lake Michigan.
