April Balliette

We engaged DSDG in 2021 to upgrade and contemporizar our condo in downtown Sarasota. We have done numerous remodeling projects and can say working with April has been the most satisfying experience yet. Her attention to detail and design vision produced a finished product that is unique and functional while giving us that modern feeling we were seeking. When we are ready for our next project we will look to April.

April was our designer for our recent condo remodel. We read about April and after interviewing quite a few designers and seeing their work, we knew she just stood out! We liked her prior projects and knew she would be great to work with. We had some idea of what we wanted and she collaborated with us asking many questions and carefully measuring and studying our existing space and layout. Her creative design blew us away! The design was according to budget and much more exciting than anything we would have imagined on our own. She is a true professional and a perfectionist with an exceptional eye for detail, proportion, and design. April led her team to help us achieve our goals and we could not be more grateful. We would recommend April for any project, large or small. We hope to work with her again in the future.

April was energetic and fun to work with. She brought a strong sense of color, light, space and design to my project and combined that with her experience and knowledge of the art, vendors and accessories in the local market to create exactly what I was looking for. She had many creative ideas and suggestions and was always focused on creating a comfortable and aesthetic design,

April was extremely organized, knowledgeable and professional. She provided us with numerous resources when selecting all of the furniture, fixtures, finishes, appliances, tile, countertops, etc. in our home. She also provided us with her thoughts without being overbearing and was very respectful of the process while we were trying to develop the overall look for both the interior and exterior of our home. We would highly recommend her to anyone building and/or decorating a home.

Earlier this spring we navigated our closing and move into our new condo in Sarasota with our partner, April White, at our side. As she has been since we started working with April last year, she was on top of every aspect of the furniture delivery, carefully inspecting each piece and insuring that they were precisely situated. The end result speaks for itself: an elegantly modern living space that fits beautifully with the sleek design of the building. April has become truly a partner in our endeavor. From the very beginning she listened to our vision and was fully invested in the project. She wanted it to be fabulous as much as we did. While she listened, she had the professional confidence to push back and assert her views, and we developed a fantastic working relationship. She’s extremely professional - well organized, precise, careful and thoughtful. She typically did not give us an immediate response to a suggestion; she’d contemplate for a bit, turning things over in her mind before answering. That thoughtfulness is reflected in the end product. She is a tremendous reflection on her firm, not only because she is a talented designer with impeccable taste, or because of her professionalism, but also because she is a wonderful person with whom it was a pleasure to work. As you are well aware there are a lot of interior designers with names, profiles and experience. But there was something about April - she was reserved, understated, not “salesy.” Her demeanor reminded us of our own daughter, and we knew how smart and capable a young lady could be. We’d want someone to take the chance with our daughter, so we decided to take the chance with April and we are very glad we did.

We have worked with April White since 2016 and she recently completed an award winning whole house design project for us. Combined with April's conscientious work ethic and mature approach, she personifies the professional traits and qualities necessary to be an exceptional interior designer. April openly listened to our concerns and ideas providing various creative solutions. She took us out of our comfort zone in handling some spaces, with fabulous results. She was tireless in researching new materials to make sure our home was unique and a reflection of us. In our absence she was on the job site overseeing installations and making sure things were done correctly to spec, plus completed in a timely manner. Simply put, April is a whirlwind who has amazing work ethic. It has been a delight to get to know her as the wonderful person she is. We have confidence in April and will not hesitate to engage her on our next design project.

April is a very talented designer and provides a level of professionalism to her clients, but also the businesses she works with. She's a great partner and we look forward to working with her again in the future.

I've had the pleasure of working with April for the last 18 months. She has always been professional, competent and responsive. April is a great asset, bringing a fresh point of view and new ideas to our project. She was an important part of our team and made great contributions to our design, layout, and anticipated issues preventing future problems. April is detail oriented and followed up with the contractor many times to avoid mistakes.

“The sun was out when we worked with April--no showers!” 11/26/17 We worked with April White, interior designer, when we moved to Sarasota from Arlington, MA. April was extremely helpful in guiding us on what to move and what we should sell up north. Upon arriving, she provided wonderful guidance as we furnished our new home with new furniture as well as what we owned. She also was a huge help in placing our art work and "pulling" everything together. We couldn't have been happier!

We absolutely loved working with April on our new house. This is the first time we have built a house and we needed someone who understood the process and was capable of designing the interior spaces and selecting colors, furniture, drapery and attending to the endless details. She did it all. April listened to our vision and created a fantastic look for our new home. It is more beautiful and perfectly suited for us than we could have imagined.
