Sydney's Pioneer In Sustainable Design

The firm Anderson Architecture was formed in 2002 to explore domestic architecture with an emphasis on humane design and a priority on natural light and tactile materials, to bring projects to life. A connection with the natural and built environments is key to the firms thinking. The use of passive design ideas along, with active systems to reduce a building energy use, is a driving force. Computer thermally modeling to engage clients and give them feedback about heating, cooling, glazing and insulation is a key feedback loop in the design process. Now employing 6 people the firm has been recognised with many awards for sustainable design and in judging sustainable resilient architecture. I engaged Anderson Architecture to to design a sustainable granny flat in the rear of my family property. The result is stunning, despite the planning restrictions of 60 s/m footprint many visitors comment on the sense of space and light. Having lived here now for all seasons I am thrilled to report it is a wonderfully easy comfortable environment to call home. It has been a pleasure to work with the professional Anderson team.

Anderson Architecture worked with us through all stages of our home renovation - design, development, council approval, documentation, tendering/negotiation, and project management. Their experience of working within the Sydney City Council Heritage Conservation Area constraints resulted in our Development Application being approved very quickly. Six months after moving in, we are very happy with the results. A solar passive renovation that is filled with light, a sense of space which handled the recent hot summer really well. One of our favourite features that emphasises the teams eye for detail, would have to be the stairs that float over the window. We would highly recommend Anderson Architecture.
