DO NOT purchase tile from here. My husband & I did a complete renovation during which we purchased tile from several different places. Our kitchen back-splash came from Akdo. There was an issue with the quality and we wrote to them to see what could be done. After several long periods of time between emails (they asked for photos, then asked for more photos, then stopped responding altogether), they blamed the issue on our contractor and how it was installed. Our contractor was the best in the business and installed EVERY aspect of our apartment flawlessly, so that wasn't the issue. They refused to do anything to help us. Go someplace else.

We have the privilege of being able to peer inside some of the most luxurious custom homes in Illinois and many of our clients have AKDO materials and designs in their home. After meeting Kate Donofree, the talented art director and designer of the particular stone pattern we were interested in, it is very apparent that she knows her stone, even down to what part of the quarry it was cut from. That's a designer with passion.
