I am a full-service experienced Colorado/Rocky Mountain-based interior designer. My portfolio of projects range from the very personal styles of individual Design-Build Private Residences to Commercial Offices to Kitchen and Bath Remodel to Hospitality and Vacation Resorts in the Rocky Mountains, Palm Springs, Hawaii as well as Hospital Interiors in Los Angeles. My skills as a designer began with growing up in a traditional artisan household. Four generations of my family owned and managed the prestigious Davis & Shaw Fine Furniture Company in downtown Denver (1899 -2005). Working summer vacations at the family store, I fell in love with Home Furnishings and Interior Design. I recall the awe I felt in the presence of beautifully crafted furniture, rugs and fabrics. I knew I would follow design as my career one day. I studied Art History and Psychology in college, earning my professional degree in Interior Design at the Colorado Institute of Art. I worked in the family business, Davis & Shaw Furniture Co., for 18 years as Director of Interior Design, Display Coordinator and as a consultant for Marketing and Advertising. As Assistant Buyer for the store, I attended the International Home Furnishings Market in High Point, North Carolina twice a year, developing strong and long lasting relationships with fine furnishings manufacturers. When Davis & Shaw closed its doors after serving the Rocky Mountain fine furniture community for 106 years, I redirected my accumulated skills as an independent full-time interior designer. Since then, I have had the great opportunity to work and develop strong relationships with the best architects, contractors, sub-contractors and most important, clients. My practice is a partnership with all involved on the project - our best results are always a collaboration of the client's vision, our role to implement and facilitate that dream incorporating the highest quality products, workmanship and craftsmanship . My years of experience and background in the furniture, construction, and design industries have enabled me to combine all elements of the space and fuse them into beautifully finished interiors. My successes come when we all work together in partnership, bringing each client's functional and aesthetic needs to fulfillment - while always staying sensitive and realistic to budgets.
