From the street, a round rock pathway leads to a small seating area next to the water with a small fire pit. Low maintenance, drought resistant and salt tolerant plantings were used in mass and clumps. It was pretty much a blank area but with some elevation issues. The seating wall served 2 purposes as a seating space but also to retain some of the patio. Natural fieldstone steppers lead from the driveway area to the patio. An assortment of perennials and plantings soften the hardscape project. Perennial Geraniums, Autumn Bride Heuchera, Carex pennsylvanica were planted in massed drifts along this hillside. Vardar Valley Boxwood and Otto Luyken Laurel are used to add some height and evergreen foliage to the planting. The wide, serpentine sandstone slab staircase with generous sized landings are used to create a beautiful walk to the water.

Ever changing garden in Vancouver, WA. We bought this property on an acre of horse pasture and started to landscape it immediately. Garden is now 17 years in the making and I'm still working on it and love changing and adding to the look. I took the pictures and they're from early spring to late fall.

The back garden was designed to include a round deck and lawn area and is surrounded by a stone path, a further flower patch and a natural green fence. Outdoors cushions by Penelope Hope, new for SS18. In the back two large ash trees are providing shade in the Spring summer. Two younger ash trees were removed to avoid overcrowding or entirely blocking the sun. Perched on a hillside on the edge of the Palouse, these homeowners wanted a backyard that took advantage of the stellar views across the surrounding farmland. Masonry retaining walls match the brick of the house, while the landscaping complements the vistas below. The water feature has multiple falls that cascade into a deep wading pool below. The concrete patio is cantilevered over the water for a seamless transition. Across the top pool, boulder stepping stones continue the path to the upper patio.

Участок расположен на высоком берегу реки Нара, хотя река с территории участка не видна. Участок был приобретен Заказчиком два года назад. Из ландшафтных работ предыдущим собственником были высажены вдоль забора березы с плотностью через 1 метр. На этом улучшение участка было закончено. Участок вытянутый, на участке есть рельеф - понижение в сторону реки. Рельеф не равномерный, в середине участка есть место со значительным перепадом высот, затем участок имеет не большой уклон. Пожелание Заказчика - максимально сохранить березы вдоль границ участка не позволяло нам проводить значительные работы по изменению рельефа, так как уровень корневых шеек уже растущих берез диктовал уровень поверхности почвы. Заказчик хотел в течение одного сезона получить полностью готовый участок. Что мы смогли выполнить. Перед домом расположен сухой ручей и сад трав. Цветник - справа от дорожки из клинкерной брусчатки.
