'Buying Time' Traditional Garden, Little Baddow Essex

Our clients had an area of garden that they wanted to have landscaped, but didn't want to wait ten years for the plants to grow. The existing strip of grass was about 50m long and served as an access to the swimming pool. This area was to become a garden path that fits in with the traditional theme of the old cottage garden. Cube 1994 often creates instant gardens when time really matters. Sourcing the plants through one of our growers in Northern Italy, Sean hand picked all the plants for this project to ensure the right balance was achieved. The ground soil was conditioned prior to planting with green-waste compost. This added a much need nutrient base to the soil. A woodland walkway was then created using a range of specimen Rhododendrons, Azaleas, Camelias, Acers, Peiris and seasonal flowering bulbs for continuing interest. Finally a winding bark mulch path was put in to give a clean walkway at anytime of the year. The result an instant woodland path, requiring little maintenance and providing a progression of colour through the seasons.
