Rachel's Landscape Design

We had a horrendous clay, deeply sloped backyard. Rachel was able to understand and address my requests and concerns. Rachel's attention to detail, and her apparent well-experienced designs made it a very reassuring process for me. I feel extremely lucky to have found Rachel to tackle our challenging project. The result was beyond transformative, and I couldn't thank her enough for all her help. Highly recommend Rachel!

My wife and I hired Rachel to create a landscape design. Our goal was to improve the curb appeal of our home, incorporate more native plants, and to add a space for entertaining. After a brief meeting with her, she spent a couple of hours in our yard, taking measurements and documenting our existing plants and trees. About a week later, she sent us several mockups and a draft design. After clarifying our questions, making minor revisions, and incorporating some last-minute requests such as a shed, Rachel stopped by to deliver a final copy of the design, which turned out to be more detailed than we'd expected. The design consisted of a large print out, mockups, and detailed plant list with suggestions for where to purchase them. In addition, she gave us 3 potted plants from her own garden to help us get started, which was a nice surprise. To sum things up, everything that Rachel provided us with was incredibly well done, professional, and informative. Her communication was excellent and we found the cost of her services to be very good value. We highly recommend Rachel's services!

We had a patch of backyard that wasn't being used and that my husband was getting tired of mowing. After chatting with Rachel, she created a preliminary scaled drawing which included solutions to problem areas and reflected our discussions about color and plant type. Her work was so thorough that we were ready to move forward with the project right away. After 20 years in the same property, our landscaping had become an odd combination of completely overgrown and barren. Blackberries, shrubs and some trees were out of control while other plants, shrubs, and trees had died off. We have a 7000 square foot lot and we were looking for someone who could provide a comprehensive landscape plan. From the initial reach out until the last item planted, Rachel was incredible. She went to work immediately measuring the property and emailing various ideas and photos prior to developing a plan. She is clearly knowledgeable about plant, shrub, and tree options and what grows well in various soil and light conditions. I was amazed by the sheer variety of plant options and consideration for a variety of blooming seasons that Rachel managed to work into the plans while incorporating many of our favorites. She also worked with the contractor to source some Juniper wood for 3-foot high elevated vegetable beds that we were interested in having built. She wanted wood that would last and withstand the weather. Rachel worked seemly with the contractor to ensure the plans were realized as designed. Rachel listens well and was responsive through the entire process. The entire process was fast, affordable, and hassle-free. I strongly recommend Rachel if you are looking for assistance with your landscape needs.

Rachel did such a wonderful job completely redesigning our front yard. It has gone from a large, sloping lawn to a space that includes patios, paths and plants. She listened to everything we wanted, met with us numerous times to check-in and drew up a beautiful plan. Rachel's love of plants is evident in her designs, but she captured our style and love of native plants. She did such a great job thinking through details such as water use, and how to have our dogs not track in gravel. Rachel is so easy to work with because she listens so well and has vast knowledge to share. She was willing to take time with us, which made all the difference in having a plan that meets our needs and budget.

From the first phone call with Rachel, I knew she understood what I wanted. She came to the house, asked many questions, took a tour of the yard with me, took measurements, and left knowing what to do. Her first plan was great, but together we thought of a few tweaks to make it even better. I submitted her plan and plant list to our HOA, and it was approved immediately. Would love to have another project for her to work on, but alas I have only one yard.

It was a pleasure working with Rachel on figuring out what to do with some of my property. She is knowledgable, has great ideas and can tie things together in a way that I wouldn’t be able to. She is personable and professional; I would hire her again in a heartbeat.

I found Rachel here on Houzz and knew from her portfolio and reviews that we might be a good fit. Boy, was I right! I gave her a very, very eclectic assortment of ideas and my vision for the yard. And she somehow managed to put it all together in a beautiful, functional and stunning design. And she was also very sensitive to mine and my husband's budget. I could not recommend her more highly. I am still in awe that she was able to put together all of the pinterest and Houzz pictures I sent her to incorporate everything in a way that makes landscaping sense. She has quite an eye and is a tremendous professional. She is also very available to her clients, quickly and thoroughly responding to all our communications. So far, we've only had her out for the design, but when work starts, we'll probably hire her back to help oversee that it's done well.

I hired Rachel to come up with a design for my large front yard. I had a septic system out front which was somewhat of a limitation. Rachel did a wonderful job of listening to what kind of environment I was looking for. She incorporated some of my ideas and came up with creative ideas of her own which we will be incorporating into our design. She spent a lot of time measuring and was thoughtful throughout the process. Rachel came when she said she would and was always on time. She was very approachable and easy to communicate which verbally and via email. I would highly recommend her for anyone needing a design.
