Can we use a small mini split vent to each bunk in the evenings? need double below. this is an addition outside the main barn - we need 7 Each bunk has its own niche and reading light, and metal ladders and railings continue the industrial feel. A set of four sliding barn doors fully cover the bunks when not in use. They slide behind each other — when the bunks are open only one door is visible on each side of the alcove. The baby grand piano tucked in the corner gives us an idea of the great room’s large size. The proportions of the furniture, doors, fireplace surround and windows — and breaking up the wood paneling with painted drywall — create a pleasingly comfortable scale.

Lofted Ceiling Is a Rope Course Their son’s room takes advantage of the space beneath the roof’s gable. A ship ladder leads up to a play loft where he can walk on or lie atop the woven ropes. This feature was the homeowner’s idea, and he planned it out prior to the framing stage of construction. This was necessary to build a structure that would accommodate the weight of people on top of the ropes safely. The rope ceiling is removable.

When mine were as young as 3 or 4, they could hook the corners of a fitted sheet over one end, which was usually in a corner, then pull it down to my end where they would climb off while I hooked the last 2 corners. Tuck in the end of the top sheet, if you use one, and a blanket and throw on the comforter or, in my children's case, a crocheted afghan from Grandma. It really wasn't that hard. Ours could be separated and when we moved into a house with a room big enough to do that, the boys, who were now old enough to make their beds by themselves, opted to keep them stacked, thrilled at the open space they now had. As for story time, when they were little, one of my kids favorite bedtime stories was the Berenstain Bears book "Bears in the Night" and they would act out each step using the bunk bed for "Up Spook Hill!" Cuddle time followed with a quieter book, usually with all of us on the floor leaning against the bed.
