would prefer spices in a cabinet at eye level (not in pull out off floor OR sitting visible on shelf). Since we use an assortment of sizes don't want to be limited to narrow shelf but do like the idea of being able to see everything at once. Vertical shelf above for plates is what we use in a bottom cabinet and like for sheet pans, etc
cabinets and bookcases around fireplace
Large windows instead of doors would work?
Furniture placement and TV not over fireplace
Pull out Shelves
Appliance garage
Storage closet somewhere if possible
multi level counter heights
TV not above fireplace - eye level and each piece of furniture in a U for conversation
angled built-in bench is atrractive
Like the built in bench and area that gives privacy for shower - other ways? also towels where you can reach them close to shower
Some windows that are good with insulation and some with UV window film?
curtains that go top down, bottom up like Glen Rock
Now is the time to install Home Automation - intrigued by it if not too costly!
hardwood floors for kithcen
placement of tiles adds dimension while keeping simple
Classic kitchen elements. curved bar is nice.
raised island bar to hide kitchen mess from living room
fireplace and painting; bookcase and TV, but not necessarily next to each other
want simple dining room with clean lines but don not want columns
like this set up but need to figure out where to put the fireplace. Not sure I like the TV over the fireplace so that is why I like the TV here.
general floor plan with kitchen, family room, and dining nook
openness with lots of room for sofas and chaise lounges
Fireplace and small room off of it
cabinet and shelves
comments similar to other mudroom desk area. Built in desk for me, but not Angus' study so it will be more flexible.
Another idea to close off the study would be these pocket doors
While the office is for Angus, I like the area for a simple desk off the mudroom like this for me so I don't have to use the dining room table or counter for my laptop, newspaper etc :-)
French doors to office and traditional feel
This area could double as bedroom. shifting needs trough the years!
Like the bookcases and cupboards. Home Office could double as reading room, study, etc?
kitchen in the back corner of the house with the dining room next to it and back door to deck in between.
Second sink and work area
Outdoor fireplace safe? gas fireplace on the other side?
Alignment of bed with high windows and other window gives privacy. One question - how does closet door open with bedside table. seems very close.
fireplace with exposed brick
high windows above sides of bed for light but private
lights of light through window
sitting area for chaise lounge
windows alongside bed possibility
lights over bed or in ceiling
floor tile
floor
Wall half tile
wrap around porch
framing around windows
