The two colors are from the opposite sides of the color wheel. The room looks very dramatic because of the contrast in the two colors but the orange makes it feels cozy, inviting and bright.

Colors chosen for this room lie on opposite ends of the color wheel from another color in the room. This positioning on the color wheel defines that colors are both complementary and contrasting. The room feels cozy and inviting. It feels exciting to have the different colors next to each other in harmony.
Triadic Color - Kids Room - There are three distinct colors in this room, green, purple, and orange. This is an Example of Triadic Color. The room has three colors that are used in equal proportion in the room. The colors used in a triadic design are colors that are found evenly spaced on the color wheel. This room feels very bright, stimulating, and colorful. It’s defiantly fitting for a kid with lots of energy. I can imagine them bouncing around the room.
Monochromatic - The White Room - Colors in this room are white, gray and beige. This is a monochromatic color room. The room color palette is white, which forms the basis for the other lighter colors in the room, in this case, different shades of white. This room provides a feeling of peace and harmony. The room has a calming effect.
