A complete refurbishment of an elegant Victorian terraced house within a sensitive conservation area. The project included a two storey glass extension and balcony to the rear, a feature glass stair to the new kitchen/dining room and an en-suite dressing and bathroom. The project was constructed over three phases and we worked closely with the client to create their ideal solution.

This living-dining room perfectly mixes the personalities of the two homeowners. The emerald green sofa and panelling give a traditional feel while the other homeowner loves the more modern elements such as the artwork, shelving and mounted TV making the layout work so they can watch TV from the dining table or the sofa with ease.

This stunning unit is made from sustainable Australian Victorian Ash, it is finished with a high gloss and Beeswax polish. Every component of this extremely heavy technical unit was handmade. Short of a fire or a natural disaster of devastating proportions this unit is made to last. It is truly a work of art.

Susan Currie Design planned a space to use for fun gatherings to watch sports and play games. Bright yellow and grey pillows along with the flame stitched rug add interest to the grey upholstery used on the new sectional. The leather ottoman with nailheads gives the family a place to put up their feet or the added seating they need for parties. An industrial table with stools compliments the metal media cabinet below the television.

L'aménagement de la pièce de vie principale de cet appartement était celle qui posait le plus de difficultés à mes clients. Son volume tout en longueur, l'étroit renfoncement et les nombreuses ouvertures laissaient peu de marge de manoeuvre pour installer un espace salon ainsi qu'un espace salle à manger tout en donnant une fonction au renfoncement créé par l'abattement d'une cloison et dont le pilier porteur marque toujours une délimitation et ferme visuellement l'espace. Ce projet avait donc deux enjeux majeurs, il fallait à la fois lier les espaces entre eux et marquer les différents espaces.

For the living room of this apartment located in South Beach, I combined natural woods such as the organic teak chestnut coffee table and the dining chairs with soft linens on the furnishings and natural stone marble on the tables; and vintage accessories throughout the space. It was important for me to create a small dining area, so I placed the table a bit under the staircase, accentuated by the beautiful ceiling lamp that seems to float over the table and anchors the room. The large piece of art over the couch is by New York artist, Jody Morlock. It’s called “Tonic Immobility” referring to the shark character depicted in the painting. The piece was created to incorporate all the colors (blues–magentas–purple and yellows) used throughout the apartment, and it’s the focal point in the living room. The space tells a story about creativity; it’s an eclectic mix of vintage finds and contemporary pieces. Photography by Diego Alejandro Design, LLC
