Walls with thick plaster arches and simple tile designs feel very natural and earthy in the warm Southern California sun. Terra cotta floor tiles are stained to mimic very old tile inside and outside in the Spanish courtyard shaded by a 'new' old olive tree. The outdoor plaster and brick fireplace has touches of antique Indian and Moroccan items. An outdoor garden shower graces the exterior of the master bath with freestanding white tub- while taking advantage of the warm Ojai summers. The open kitchen design includes all natural stone counters of white marble, a large range with a plaster range hood and custom hand painted tile on the back splash. Wood burning fireplaces with iron doors, great rooms with hand scraped wide walnut planks in this delightful stay cool home. Stained wood beams, trusses and planked ceilings along with custom creative wood doors with Spanish and Indian accents throughout this home gives a distinctive California Exotic feel. Simple Bathroom Renovation with Walk-in Shower

A bathroom remodel to give this space an open, light, and airy feel features a large walk-in shower complete with a stunning 72’ Dreamline 3-panel frameless glass door, two Kohler body sprayers, Hansgrohe Raindance shower head, ceiling light and Panasonic fan, and a shower niche outfitted with Carrara Tumbled Hexagon marble to contrast with the clean, white ceramic Carrara Matte Finish tiled walls. The rest of the bathroom includes wall fixtures from the Kohler Forte Collection and a Kohler Damask vanity with polished Carrara marble countertops, roll out drawers, and built in bamboo organizers. The light color of the vanity along with the Sherwin Williams Icelandic Blue painted walls added to the light and airy feel of this space. The goal was to make this space feel more light and airy, and due to lack of natural light was, we removed a jacuzzi tub and replaced with a large walk in shower. Sophisticated Master Suite and Laundry Addition

This home had a generous master suite prior to the renovation; however, it was located close to the rest of the bedrooms and baths on the floor. They desired their own separate oasis with more privacy and asked us to design and add a 2nd story addition over the existing 1st floor family room, that would include a master suite with a laundry/gift wrapping room. We added a 2nd story addition without adding to the existing footprint of the home. The addition is entered through a private hallway with a separate spacious laundry room, complete with custom storage cabinetry, sink area, and countertops for folding or wrapping gifts. The bedroom is brimming with details such as custom built-in storage cabinetry with fine trim mouldings, window seats, and a fireplace with fine trim details. The master bathroom was designed with comfort in mind. A custom double vanity and linen tower with mirrored front, quartz countertops and champagne bronze plumbing and lighting fixtures make this room elegant. Water jet cut Calcatta marble tile and glass tile make this walk-in shower with glass window panels a true work of art. And to complete this addition we added a large walk-in closet with separate his and her areas, including built-in dresser storage, a window seat, and a storage island. The finished renovation is their private spa-like place to escape the busyness of life in style and comfort. These delightful homeowners are already talking phase two of renovations with us and we look forward to a longstanding relationship with them.

This Houston, Texas River Oaks home went through a complete remodel of their master bathroom. Originally, it was a bland rectangular space with a misplaced shower in the center of the bathroom; partnered with a built-in tub against the window. We redesigned the new space by completely gutting the old bathroom. We decided to make the space flow more consistently by working with the rectangular layout and then created a master bathroom with free-standing tub inside the shower enclosure. The tub was floated inside the shower by the window. Next, we added a large bench seat with an oversized mosaic glass backdrop by Lunada Bay "Agate Taiko. The 9’ x 9’ shower is fully enclosed with 3/8” seamless glass. The furniture-like vanity was custom built with decorative overlays on the mirror doors to match the shower mosaic tile design. Further, we bleached the hickory wood to get the white wash stain on the cabinets. The floor tile is 12" x 24" Athena Sand with a linear mosaic running the length of the room. This tranquil spa bath has many luxurious amenities such as a Bain Ultra Air Tub, "Evanescence" with Brizo Virage Lavatory faucets and fixtures in a brushed bronze brilliance finish. Overall, this was a drastic, yet much needed change for my client.

Cream walls, trim and ceiling are featured alongside white subway tile with cream tile accents. A Venetian mirror hangs above a white porcelain pedestal sink and alongside a complementary toilet. A brushed nickel faucet and accessories contrast with the Calcutta gold floor tile, tub deck and shower shelves. A leaded glass window, vintage milk glass ceiling light and frosted glass and brushed nickel wall light continue the crisp, clean feeling of this bright bathroom. The vintage 1920s flavor of this room reflects the original look of its elegant, sophisticated home.

The home is a classic mid century modern overlooking Lake Oswego. The master bath is cramped and outdated with lots of monochromatic plastic laminate and a very small mildewed shower surround. The client wanted to increase the size of the shower and update the bathroom in keeping with the architectural style of the rest of the house. Of course, budget was a concern as well. We were able to double the size of the shower as well as removing the dropped ceiling which used to house the bath fan. The new shower surround features a separate fixed head and handshower, porcelain tile with glass “bullet” accents and a niche for storage. The new wall mount vanity, medicine cabinet and light valance were custom built to match the teak room dividers that run through the kitchen and living room. A new Marmoleum floor and updated plumbing fixtures provide the finishing touches. The finished product accomplishes the client’s goals and fits seamlessly with the rest of the house. For the primary bathroom, we played with pattern and kept the floors neutral, but incorporated patterned tiles to the entire back wall. We added a soaking tub and enclosed shower with a glass door. A reeded vanity and board and batten on the walls were added for texture, along with a stacked quartz countertop. Lastly, we balanced it all out with champagne bronze hardware and sconces for a sophisticated feel.
