An East London former artist's studio in the heart of Shoreditch was brought to life with a lively mix of classic Scandinavian design layered with punches of colour and pattern. Bespoke joinery sits alongside modern and antique furniture. A deco Venetian mirror adds sparkle in the Asian influenced sitting room which displays pieces sourced from as far afield as Malaysia and Hong Kong. Indian textiles and a handwoven beni ourain carpet from Marrakech give the bedroom a relaxed bohemian feel, with simple bespoke silk blinds commissioned for the large lateral windows that span the room. In the bathroom the simple Fired Earth tiles sing. A couple of carefully chosen accessories found in a Parisian market add a dash of je ne sais quoi.

Ruthie and her husband were born overseas and traveled the world together. Their home is an expression of the things that they love and have collected over the years. With touches of Africa and a definite global flair throughout the home, their home is eclectic, relaxed and certainly collected. They realize that not everyone loves this style, but home is suppose to be what YOU love. Ruthie loves a mix of styles and is comfortable with some rooms being more eclectic and others more traditional. Her home is her palette to express her design aesthetic and experiment with things she loves.

Our brief was to blur the strong angular edges and create a supremely comfortable and inviting environment.

A child’s playhouse has been remodeled into a guesthouse. The cottage includes a bedroom with built in wardrobe and a bathroom. Ceilings are vaulted to maximize height.

Give a small space maximum impact. A found architectural element set off the design. Pure white painted pedestal and white stone sink stand out against the black. New chair rail added - crown molding used to give chunkier feel. Wall paper having some fun and antique mirror connecting to the history of the pedestal.

This design scheme blends femininity, sophistication, and the bling of Art Deco with earthy, natural accents. An amoeba-shaped rug breaks the linearity in the living room that’s furnished with a lady bug-red sleeper sofa with gold piping and another curvy sofa. These are juxtaposed with chairs that have a modern Danish flavor, and the side tables add an earthy touch. The dining area can be used as a work station as well and features an elliptical-shaped table with gold velvet upholstered chairs and bubble chandeliers. A velvet, aubergine headboard graces the bed in the master bedroom that’s painted in a subtle shade of silver. Abstract murals and vibrant photography complete the look. This ultra feminine nursery in a Brooklyn boutique condo is a relaxing and on-trend space for baby girl. An accent wall with statement floral wallpaper becomes the focal point for the understated mid-century, two-toned crib. A soft white rattan mirror hangs above to break up the wall of oversized blooms and sweet honeybees. A handmade mother-of-pearl inlaid dresser feels at once elegant and boho, along with the whitewashed wood beaded chandelier. To add to the boho style, a natural rattan rocker with gauze canopy sits upon a moroccan bereber rug. Mustard yellow accents and the tiger artwork complement the honeybees perfectly and balance out the feminine pink, mauve and coral tones.
