When re-working a space, it pays to consider your priorities early on. We discussed the pros and cons of tearing out the bathroom and starting fresh vs. giving it a facelift. In the end, we decided that the buget was better spent on new solid oak herringbone flooring and new doors throughout. To give the space a more modern look, we opted to re-do the sink area with custom corian shelving and replaced all faucets for matte black ones. A lick of fresh, water-resistant paint, new lighting and some decorative elements (like the waffle towels seen left) gave the space a new lease of life.

The bold and timeless contrast here of black and white creates drama and fun in this small en-suite shower room. Space is of a premium but the fully folding shower screen and wall to wall wet room drainage mean that the space is functional and easy to use.

The sink in the bathroom stands on a base with an accent yellow module. It echoes the chairs in the kitchen and the hallway pouf. This young family wanted a home that was bright, relaxed and clean lined which supported their desire to foster a sense of openness and enhance communication. Graceful style that would be comfortable and timeless was a primary goal.

We removed the long wall of mirrors and moved the tub into the empty space at the left end of the vanity. We replaced the carpet with a beautiful and durable Luxury Vinyl Plank. We simply refaced the double vanity with a shaker style.

The original master bathroom was poorly designed with an open alcove to the master bedroom, a separate space for the toilet and shower and a medium size walk-in closet. The new master bathroom was transformed to an open concept with a combination of a large walk-in shower and free-standing tub, cooler color scheme that included the white shaker double vanity, quartz countertop, large glass framed wall mirror, honey bronze finish bathroom fixtures and accessories, beautiful wall sconces, and a toilet. The combination of large subway wall tile, arabesque tile for the accent wall and large floor tile were incorporated in the bathroom design. The walk-in shower was separated with a large frameless glass panels and door. A smaller walk-in closet was proposed to enlarge the bathroom. Designed by Fiallo Design and built by Buildewell.

Multiple grey tones combine for this bathroom project in Hove, with traditional shaker-fitted furniture. The Brief Like many other bathroom renovations we tackle, this client sought to replace a traditional shower over bath with a walk-in shower space. In terms of style, the space required a modernisation with a neutral design that wouldn’t age quickly. The space needed to remain relatively spacious, yet with enough storage for all bathroom essentials. Other amenities like underfloor heating and a full-height towel rail were also favoured within the design. Design Elements Placing the shower in the corner of the room really dictated the remainder of the layout, with the fitted furniture then placed wall-to-wall beneath the window in the room. The chosen furniture is a fitted option from British supplier R2. It is from their shaker style Stow range and has been selected in a complimenting Midnight Grey colourway. The furniture is composed of a concealed cistern unit, semi-recessed basin space and then a two-drawer cupboard for storage. Atop, a White Marble work surface nicely finishes off this area of the room. An R2 Altitude mirrored cabinet is used near the door area to add a little extra storage and important mirrored space. Special Inclusions The showering area required an inventive solution, resulting in small a platform being incorporated into the design. Within this area, a towel rail features, alongside a Crosswater shower screen and brassware from Arco. The shower area shows the great tile combination that has been chosen for this space. A Natural Grey finish teams well with the Fusion Black accent tile used for the shower platform area. The master bath had three in-swinging doors in a very small space and was dark. We eliminated two of the doors, opened up the space, and replaced all the finishes with simple and bright finishes to create a larger inviting space.
