NUUUN's N2 kitchen - Project Keizersgracht, Amsterdam

One of the more striking developments in the MIYO Studio portfolio was on Amsterdam’s Keizersgracht. The historic building, which was the former summer palace of the 18th Century Swedish king, set the scene for a vivid contrast and combination of classic and modern styles. The installation of NUUUN’s N2 kitchen, with it’s minimalistic style, created in full white Corian is surrounded by original wood paneling and fabrics from the 18th century. The island is complemented with three freestanding high cabinets in the same striking white, completed by original molded ceiling from the earlier era. The upper part of this monolithic island is made exclusively of Corian, resting on metal supports that consciously give the impression of skewed balance. Increased functionality of the design is made possible through the ability to close both the sink and induction plate, resulting in an uniform surface - the table. The island itself is equipped with an audio system which connects wirelessly to a phone or laptop to play your favourite music or network radio station. The result is the connection of functionality - cooking, with the pleasure of music or other activities on the bench-top. N2 can be completed with a separate stand from kitchens N6 or The Cube.
