Pour ce projet, nos clients souhaitaient personnaliser leur appartement en y apportant de la couleur et le rendre plus fonctionnel. Nous avons donc conçu de nombreuses menuiseries sur mesure et joué avec les couleurs en fonction des espaces. Dans la pièce de vie, le bleu des niches de la bibliothèque contraste avec les touches orangées de la décoration et fait écho au mur mitoyen. Côté salle à manger, le module de rangement aux lignes géométriques apporte une touche graphique. L’entrée et la cuisine ont elles aussi droit à leurs menuiseries sur mesure, avec des espaces de rangement fonctionnels et leur banquette pour plus de convivialité. En ce qui concerne les salles de bain, chacun la sienne ! Une dans les tons chauds, l’autre aux tons plus sobres.

This very small hall bath is the only full bath in this 100 year old Four Square style home in the Irvington neighborhood. We needed to give a nod to the tradition of the home but add modern touches, some color and the storage that the clients were craving. We had to move the toilet to get the best flow for the space and we added a clever flip down cabinet door to utilize as counter space when standing at the cool one bowl, double sink. The juxtaposition of the traditional with the modern made this space pop with life and will serve well for the next 100 years. A small cloakroom for guests, tucked away in a semi hidden corner of the floor plan, is surprisingly decorated with a bright yellow interior with the colour applied indifferently to walls, ceilings and cabinetry.

Relocating the washer and dryer to a stacked location in a hall closet allowed us to add a second bathroom to the existing 3/1 house. The new bathroom is definitely on the sunny side, with bright yellow cabinetry perfectly complimenting the classic black and white tile and countertop selections.

This tiny bathroom makes a huge impact on the first floor of the home. Tucked quietly underneath a stairwell, this half bath offers convenience to guests and homeowners alike. The hardwoods from the hall and main home are integrated seamlessly into the space. Brass and white plumbing fixutres surround a grey and white veined marble countertop and provide warmth to the room. An accented tiled wall it filled with the Carolyn design tile in white from the Barbie Kennedy Engraved Collection, sourced locally through our Renaissance Tile rep. A commode (hidden in this picture) sits across from the vanity to create the perfect pit stop.

Este pequeño aseo de cortesía debía contrarestar con diversión lo que no tenía en proporciones. Jugamos con un papel negro de jungla para aportar profundidad en la parte alta, recurrimos al mayor contraste con el negro, que es el color amarillo, para marcar rotundamente el pequeño mueble del lavabo, y jugamos a llenar la parte baja con un mosaico de mármol natural blanco en espiga para que no quedase ninguna zona completamente llena. Beside the bed is the way to the washroom. We wanted it bright to make it look larger than its size. The fittings are black but the walls are a powder blue, the cabinets are a genteel shade of lemon and the tiles are a play of our monochromatic colours. Despite the paucity of space, we created a loft, an essential element.

Classic black and white paired with an energetic dandelion color to capture the energy and spunk my kids bring to the world. What better way to add energy than some strong accents in a bold yellow? The niche is elongated and dimensioned precisely to showcase the black and white Moroccan tile and the sides, top, and bottom of the niche are a honed black granite that really makes the pattern pop. The technique of using granite, marble, or quartz to frame a shower niche is also preferable to using tile if you want to minimize grout lines that you'll have to clean. The black onyx finish of the shower fixtures picks up the granite color as well and are offset with a white acrylic tub and vertical side wall tiles in a bright white. A shower curtain pulls aside easily so small kids could be bathed easily.

This was a full gut-renovation of a 1950's "green" bathroom, transformed into a stunning updated bathroom. We remodeled this into a beautiful powder room with a nostalgic look for a client in MA.
