This modern farmhouse kitchen features a beautiful combination of Navy Blue painted and gray stained Hickory cabinets that’s sure to be an eye-catcher. This existing client reached out to MMI Design for help shortly after the flood waters of Harvey subsided. Her home was ravaged by 5 feet of water throughout the first floor. What had been this client's long-term dream renovation became a reality, turning the nightmare of Harvey's wrath into one of the loveliest homes designed to date by MMI. We led the team to transform this home into a showplace. Our work included a complete redesign of her kitchen and family room, master bathroom, two powders, butler's pantry, and a large living room. MMI designed all millwork and cabinetry, adjusted the floor plans in various rooms, and assisted the client with all material specifications and furnishings selections. Returning these clients to their beautiful '"new" home is one of MMI's proudest moments!

This kitchen has many interesting elements that set it apart. The sense of openness is created by the raised ceiling and multiple ceiling levels, lighting and light colored cabinets. A custom hood over the stone back splash creates a wonderful focal point with it's traditional style architectural mill work complimenting the islands use of reclaimed wood (as seen on the ceiling as well) transitional tapered legs, and the use of Carrara marble on the island top. New homeowners wanted to update the kitchen before moving in. KBF replaced all the flooring with a mid-tone plank engineered wood, and designed a gorgeous new kitchen that is truly the centerpiece of the home. The crystal chandelier over the center island is the first thing you notice when you enter the space, but there is so much more to see! The architectural details include corbels on the range hood, cabinet panels and matching hardware on the integrated fridge, crown molding on cabinets of varying heights, creamy granite countertops with hints of gray, black, brown and sparkle, and a glass arabasque tile backsplash to reflect the sparkle from that stunning chandelier.
