How is this refrigerator positioned in the black space?

Is the interior of the refrigerator space painted black? What are the cabinets made of ? How do you get those doors on a refrigerator? What kinds of latches are used to open/close the cabinets?

Thank you for your questions. The place is not painted in black. It's just a niche, and the refrigerator is not built-in type, just located in the niche. Cabinets are made by plywood and painted in white. About the latches, we used following ones. They are very ordinary in Japan.
