In the early 90s, Felix Schmeing was among the first students of the Malibu Tile Factory in Topanga, where he learned about the art of tile-making. After completing his apprenticeship, he started his own business, Ceramic Concepts, in the mid-90s. The Ceramic Concepts studio is where Felix uses his exceptional knowledge of glaze formulations to create perfect glazes that are unique and beautiful. Felix's sincere and ethical approach to business has earned Ceramic Concepts a reputation that has spread through word of mouth, attracting clients from all over the world, including many celebrities and notables. Since the early 2000s, Felix's wife, Evie Seifu, has joined him in the business and since handles designing and marketing. Ceramic Concepts offers custom-made tiles made with the utmost professionalism and personal attention to detail. Felix and Evie work closely with clients to make sure that the end result is exactly what the client envisioned. Designers and clients are very fortunate to have Ceramic Concepts as a resourse for beautiful hand-painted tiles. Felix and Evie take the time to listen to their clients' specifications, and they pay unual attention to detail as they create custom tiles in just about any color combination imaginable. Their cuerda seca or Malibu tiles, in particular, are absoulutely gorgeous and in some cases more affordable than the non-custom tile competition. Felix Schmeing of Ceramic Concepts is a master craftsman and artisan. He hand glazes all his tiles but still manages to remain very competitive with his prices. He will do custom colors and patterns but also has a huge library patterns, samples and colors. He is the kindest person you will every work with and you will have the most beautiful tiles to remind you of the great experience of working with Felix.

During our Spanish-style house build we investigated many types of decorative ceramic tile for use in the fireplace surround, hood vent and stair risers areas. But the decorative tile in the Spanish Revival collection made at Ceramic Concepts matched the look that we wanted. The fact that they could custom color the tiles if we needed was also a very attractive option. As the house progressed we made three different orders (in varying quantities) and in every case Felix and Evie went out of their way to make sure the tiles not only matched the needed color scheme but also arrived in time for the builder. The house is now almost done but we are already planning some possible upgrades (tiling several groin ceilings, some outdoor accent tiling, etc) and we are planning on using Ceramic Concepts to help us.

Комментарий в: Where in the SB area can you purchase Malibu Tile??We also make Malibu tiles...we work with people all over the US. We are located in Echo Park. We (Ceramic Concepts) also work through Buena Tile in Santa Barbara. Hope that helps!
