We put Anacharis ("oxygenator plant" at many pond supply stores) in that stock tank pond. The water is clear, and the plant provides food and hiding places for our fish. However, the Anacharis is very vigorous and makes its own thick, green mass under the water. The surface and top few inches are clear, however.
